Melinda Polhemus Hearne
It is with great sadness that we inform the community that our dear sister Melinda Polhemus Hearne (DH60) has passed away unexpectedly at her home in Oak Run, CA on November 18, 2014. After a full career as a Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Deputy, and ultimately as a homicide detective, she retired to her peaceful paradise in northern California where she was surrounded by dear and loving friends.
Among her passions was riding her motorcycles and participating in organizations such as the Blue Knights (an international law enforcement motorcycle club) and the Patriot Guard Riders. ?The PGRĀ have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America?s freedom and security including Fallen Military Heroes, First Responders and Honorably Discharged Veterans.? Their Mission Statement is as follows:
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:
- Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
- Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.
Any of her friends, or others in our community, who would like to honor her, may make a donation in her name here:
