Lois Ann Taylor
Lois Ann "Derby" Taylor, 88, of Tyngsboro, MA. A world traveler, devoted family matriarch and generous spirit, lost her long battle with Alzheimer's on February 2, 2017 at The Bridges Memory Care Center in Mashpee, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Julius Willard Taylor and the daughter of the late Roland Derby Sr. and the late Ardelle Derby. She is survived by her son Scott Taylor, her daughter-in-law Laura Hodges Taylor, their sons Zachary and Nicholas, her daughter Sandra Taylor-Vose, her son-in-law Arthur Vose, and Sandra's son Peter Taylor Irwin. At 19, during, a West Point ball she met her beloved, Julius W. Taylor, a Kentucky Army doc. They moved to NY where she modeled and worked as a medical receptionist during his surgical residency. In 1952, Doc was offered a job working for Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. They lived there for 28 years. Her life was a full and generous one always it seems putting the needs and interests of others ahead of her own. While a remarkably private person, her life was a tapestry of warm and enduring friendships. A dignified and elegant woman, Lois was a tough Yankee and a devoted family member to the end. She provided us all infinite lessons in living a good life, we love her and will miss her every day.
