Lloyd L. Moore
Lloyd L. Moore, Coordinator, Personnel division, Industrial Relations, General Office, Dhahran, died April 22 in New York City, where he was a patient at the George F. Baker Pavilion. Funeral services will be held in New York City. A memorial service was held in Dhahran Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Theater.
Moore celebrated the 36th anniversary of his entrance into the oil industry Jan. 22 of this year. Of these years 16 were spent in the Middle East. He arrived in Saudi Arabia Aug. 14, 1943, as Supervisor, American personnel, with field-wide responsibilities. In December, 1945, he was made Superintendent, Residential and Personal Services.
In 1946 he became Aramco Agent, Bahrain. He was Superintendent, Eastern division of Personnel and Employee Services, Tapline, in Dhahran and Ras al-Misha'ab from 1947 through 1950. The following year he was transferred back to Aramco in the same job category at Ras al-Misha'ab. In 1952 he was made Superintendent, Residential Services, Dhahran, and served there until his appointment as Coordinator, Personnel division, Industrial Relations, in August, 1953.
Mr. Moore was first employed by Standard Oil Company of California as a hall boy. Later he was transferred to Standard Stations, Inc. After a series of job assignments there he became Assistant Secretary of Standard Stations with organizational and personnel duties, the job he held just before coming to Saudi Arabia.
Surviving Mr. Moore are his mother Mrs. Alyee Martin, his widow Patricia, his two daughters Mrs. Anne Johansson of Bainbridge Island, Wash., who is the mother of four boys and one girl, and Mrs. Patricia Burlee of East Pakistan, who is the mother of a daughter.
Mrs. Moore has requested that in lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the American Heart Association. R. H. Hickman, Room 3000, Administration Building, will receive such donations and send them to the American Heart Association. [Photograph]
