Kenneth F. Casparis
October 25, 1925 - August 27, 2002
Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery, Taft on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. for former Taft resident, Kenneth Frank Casparis, 76. Rev. Jim Butler of the United Medthodist Church of Lompoc will officiate at the services. Mr. Casparis was born in Taft on October 25, 1925 and passed away in Lompoc on August 27, 2002. He was raised and educated in Taft Union High School in 1943. Mr. Casparis proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. After his discharge he attended Ashland College in Oregon. He returned to Taft and went to work for Standard Oil Company. Mr. and Mrs. Casparis spent eight years in Saudi Aribia while he worked as a supervisor for Aramco. He retired in 1982 and lived in Cambria for ten years before moving to Lompoc.
Mr. Casparis was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rae Casparis; his daughter, Andrea Saylor and his son, Kenny Casparis. His survivors include his wife, Caroling Casparis of Lompoc; his daughters, Christine Landrum of Middlefield, Ohio and Karen Smith of No. Bloomfield, Ohio; his son, Tim Moncier of Lompoc; his sisters, Hazel Davis of Taft and Geraldine Kirchgatter and her husband, Bob of Redwood City; his nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several cousins and other family members.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 pm at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
