Joyce Elaine Crow
Joyce Elaine Crow, 96, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Regent Park Rehabilitation and Health Care, Wichita, KS.
Joyce was born February 18, 1928, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Phillip and Grace (Wilson) Crow. She attended Hutchinson High School. Joyce was known for greeting everyone she met with her big, beautiful smile and kindness. She enjoyed many adventures in her life, starting with working for the Aramco Company in Saudi Arabia in the 1950s. After returning to the US from the Middle East, she attended and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Colorado. The majority of Joyce's career was with the Social Security Administration, giving her the opportunity to explore and experience life in many parts of the US before returning to her hometown of Hutchinson, KS. Through work, Joyce met her longtime friend, Michele Groves, and together they enjoyed many adventures including sailing, golfing and travel around the US. One of Joyce's greatest joys was enjoying activities with her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Phillip Crow, Jack Crow, Patricia Goracke, Frank Crow, Dale Crow and Charlene Crow.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Judy McDonald; brother, Bill Crow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Tom Scott officiating. Inurnment will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park.
