John Marvin Parker, Jr., age 79, died in peace at his home in Bellville, Texas, on September 22, 2013, with his wife Lois at his side.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Davis-Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with the Reverend Paul Wehner officiating.

Mr. Parker was born March 22, 1934, in Houston, TX, to John Marvin & Audrey (Dozier) Parker. He graduated high school from Georgia Military Academy, College Park, GA (now Woodward Academy) in 1952 and later earned his BBA from the University of Houston. John joined the US Army during the late 1950's, serving in Japan, and later reenlisted in the US Air Force stateside. In the late 1970's, he was employed by Saudi Aramco as Supervisor/Division Head, Computer Operations. During these 12 years he was able to follow his love of golf, scuba diving and skiing all over the world.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lois(Sims)Parker; son, John M. Parker, III(Joyce); daughters, Sarah Ellen and Lynn; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Mississippi; brother-in-law, Naylon Sims(Lottie); and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John M. & Audrey Parker, Sr., and his brother, Barry Joseph Parker.
