John Carl Cottle Junior

John Carl Cottle Junior, passed away in London on Sunday, August 11. He was 88 years old.

Carl transferred from Texaco to Aramco in April 1974 and worked in the project management department until he transferred back to Texaco in August 1980.

He leaves behind his wife Lillian, six children - Terry, Steve, John, Lee-Anne, Giles and Robin - 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Carl was born in Orange, Texas, on May 5 1925. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

Carl was a lifelong employee of Texaco, working and travelling across the world to places such as Nigeria, South Africa, Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Holland and London.

He studied chemical engineering at Texas A&M and he was a lifelong supporter of the Aggies. The fight song will be playing at his funeral.

The service takes place at Hampstead Garden Suburb Church in London at 2pm on Monday, August 19.

Towards the end of his life Carl suffered from Alzheimer's. His family has set up a "just giving" page to raise money for Age UK, who helped him a lot in his later years.
