Jeanne V. Johnson, 92, of Sarasota, FL, died on June 18, 2014. Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wed., June 25, 2014 at Church of the Incarnation in Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Toale Brothers Funeral Home.

Born January 13, 1922, in Long Island New York Jeanne was the daughter of the late Agnes V. Von Glahn and William P. Waring. Jeanne attended Long Beach New York Schools and following High School she attended Hofstra University and The University of Colorado.

Her professional career and area of expertise was Military Recreation, and as such she held the position of USO Director. In Colorado Springs, she was the first recreation service club director at the United States Air force Academy, and Asst. Cadet Wing. Jeanne was also the Hostess at the AFO Academy. She served at the Far East tours and was the service clubs Director for the USSAF in Tachikawa Japan AF Base. Jeanne was honored by USAF Academy Class of 1962, with a replica miniature of their class ring.

Jeanne and her Husband, Robert H. Johnson, spend over 32 yrs of married life living overseas, in Africa, Japan and in the Middle East, and traveling extensively in those areas. After they both retired they moved to Sarasota Fl, in 1991. They became a long time supporter of the Arts in the Sarasota Community, and former long term volunteer with the Meals on Wheels, and devoted of the Military Officer ASSN Sarasota Program, "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS".

Survivors include her brother, William P. Waring; numerous nieces and nephews including her niece, Virginia Ernis; nephews, Michael Ernis, Micheal Waring, and W.P Waring; friends, Joyce Bruno, Sister Lucia and Anthony Bartrome, just to name a few and last but not least her dearest best friends and companion "Luke Johnson" and Magdalena Colomer.

Interment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice or Cardinal Mooney High School.
