James Reid Cruciger
James Reid Cruciger, maintenance engineer, Maintenance and Shops Division, Ras Tanura, died in his sleep early Saturday morning, Sept. 16.
Bom in Wilkensburg, Penn., Oct. 23, 1917, Mr. Cruciger graduated from Shadyside Academy and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., where he received a bachelor of science degree in Metallurgy. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin and was awarded a degree in Corrosion Engineering.
Mr. Cruciger entered the oil industry with Standard Oil Company (New Jersey) in 1946. He transferred to Standard Vacuum in 1951 where assignments took him to Durban and Bombay. He returned to the States 1954 to work as senior maintenance engineer for Esso. In 1959 he transferred to the Consortium at Abadan where he was head of the maintenance section (cracking) unit. He joined Aramco Dec. 6, 1963, and he and his family arrived in Ras Tanura three days later.
Mr. Cruciger is survived by his wife, Jessie, and his four children, Mrs. Wallace Ayres of Swarthmore, Penn., twins, Michael and Marc, and daughter, Wendy. Their contact address is c/o A.A.
