James Bogan Weems, Jr.
James "Jimmy" Bogan Weems Jr., 60, died of congestive heart failure July 10, 2004, in Batam, Indonesia.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale. The family will receive family and friends immediately following the services at the Clarksdale Elks Lodge, located at 525 Mississippi 322.
Mr. Weems, retired from Saudi Aramco Oil Co., was born January 29, 1944, in Clarksdale to Bogan and Mae Weems. He graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1961. He served in the United States Army for four years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Najamah Lodge in Saudia Arabia. Mr. Weems was employed by Aramco in Saudi Arabia until he moved to Batam, Indonesia, where he lived until his death.
Mr. Weems was preceded in death by his father, James Bogan Weems Sr. of Clarksdale, and grandparents F.J. and Lizzie Weems and W.J. & Effie Byrd, also of Clarksdale.
Survivors include mother, Honor Mae Weems of Clarksdale; three sons, James "Jimbo" Robert Weems of Austin, Tx., William "Billy" Bennett (Kelly) Weems of New Orleans, La., and Brandon Bogan Weems of Baton Rouge, La.; a daughter, Ashley Anne (Jake) Zeringue of Donaldsonville, La.; two brothers, Richard "Big 'un" Lawrence (Jan) Weems of Greenville, Ms., and Joseph "Joe" Cook Weems of Clarksdale; and a sister, June Rene (Mike) Monaghan of Oxford. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be donated to a preferred charity.
