Jackson 'Bob' R. McBride Jr.

Jackson "Bob" R. McBride Jr., 96, of Benicia passed away Wednesday in a local hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Houston, Texas and has called Benicia his home for the past 10 years. Jackson worked as an Analyst and Industrial Engineer for ARAMCO, which took him to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1955. His young family followed in 1956. He returned to the United States in 1969, joining Bechtel Corporation, where he worked in International Compensation until his retirement.

Jackson was a philosopher on almost any subject. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed writing poetry, playing golf, gardening, and traveling the world.

He is survived by Hope, his wife of more than 74 years, daughter Nina Myer, son Jackson R. McBride III; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be private at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Internment will be private.
