Ibrahim Iliyan, 85, passed peacefully in his home in Montreal, Quebec on Oct. 23, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Ibrahim was born on Feb. 21, 1937 in Jaffa, Palestine. Upon completion of a Petroleum Engineering degree in Egypt, Ibrahim began his 37 and a half-year career with Saudi Aramco. He was one of the pioneers in the petroleum exploration field. Ibrahim was acknowledged for his recreation of a replica of the original 1938 Dammam No. 7 Wellhead, also known as Prosperity 7. His career culminated in updating and revising the Saudi Aramco Drilling and Workover manual.

Ibrahim will be fondly remembered as a hardworking, loving, and devoted husband and father who remained active well into his retirement, enjoying biking and gardening. He will also be remembered for his zest for life, outgoing nature and charismatic sense of humour.
