Hosni A. Audie

Hosni A. Audie, age 75, of Orange passed away on May 29, 2015 after a four-year struggle with multiple myeloma. For the past 45 years, he was the loving husband of Elena DiGioia Audie. Born in Palestine, he was a son of the late Abdel-Rohman and Aisha Audie. In addition to his wife, Mr. Audie will be greatly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Nicole Audie and David and Elizabeth Audie. His five adoring grandchildren, Luke, Michael, Sara, Victoria, and Mark, who brought him great joy, will especially miss him. He is also survived by his brothers, Wajeh and Sharif, and sisters, Rasheka, Hosnia, and Salhah, and large extended family. His siblings Hussein, Hasan, Riffat, Aisha, and Fatima, predecease him.
In 1961 he immigrated to the United States and worked at the United Nations while attending CCNY. He eventually moved to Connecticut and graduated from the University of New Haven in 1969 with a degree in industrial engineering. His career as an engineer for Saudi Aramco spanned three decades and allowed the family to create wonderful memories while traveling throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, before permanently settling in Orange.
The hours for visitation will take place Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, New Haven at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery, Derby, CT.
