Frank S. Pramuk
Frank S. Pramuk, of Fanwood, NJ, longtime Middle East executive of Exxon Corporation, died August 6, 2010, at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Born in Lilly, PA, Frank received a BS in chemical engineering from Penn State University in 1952, graduating at age 19, and an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1954. After three years service as a Navy officer, he joined the Exxon organization, first at Bayway Refinery and later at Exxon Research and Engineering. He transferred to Esso Middle East in 1970 and for the remainder of his career worked on Middle East matters, with emphasis on Saudi Arabia. During the 1970s he was part of the team that negotiated the transfer of the Arabian Oil Company (ARAMCO) to the Saudi Arab government. In 1990 he was named the final president of ARAMCO and supervised its liquidation. He retired as Middle East manager for Exxon Company International in 1996.
Frank retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve with the rank of lieutenant commander. He was a member of Penn State�s Mount Nittany Society. He was a United Way volunteer for many years, and served as vice president of the United Way for the Plainfield area, and later as a member of the board of the United Way of Greater Union County. He was also active in the Exxon Annuitants Club of Morris County and headed its Financial Club.
In addition to family, reading and classical music he enjoyed their summer home in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rosemary McDonald Bialeschki of Tolono, IL, and three children, Kathryn Pramuk-Mari of Wayne, PA,, Nancy Black of Morris Plains, NJ, and Michael, of Santa Cruz, CA; a brother, William, of Portage, PA, and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Services on Wednesday will be private to the family.
