Felix E. Martin
My father Felix E. Martin (better known as Marty to his friends) passed away February 4th at the age of 85 in Rhode Island. He had been living with my youngest brother John, John's wife Sandi and their two children since late May. John and Sandi were wonderful to Dad and fulfilled Dad's wishes of spending his remaining days at home.
My mother Jean Martin has been in a nursing home in Rhode Island for a year and is very well taken care of.
Dad signed on with Aramco in 1950 as a Physical Therapist. He and my mother met there after Mom joined Aramco in 1953 as a nurse. My brother Kevin and I were both born in Dhahran, while our youngest brother John was born in Providence, RI.
While working for Aramco, Dad was very active in Little League both as a coach and later as an umpire. Many people remember those days and Dad's booming voice.
Retirement came in November of 1978 and Mom and Dad took up residence in Bonnet Shores, Rhode Island.
Dad was very proud of his seven grandchildren and loved when the whole family would gather at their home during the summer.
A memorial Mass was held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Narragansett, Rhode Island on February 8, 2004.
