Farewell to Bep McCarthy
Bep McCarthy passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2012 after a two year battle with cancer. Bep was the wife of Jim McCarthy. They lived in Ras Tanura in the 1950s.

Dear Friends,
I'm sorry to announce that my mother Beppie passed away from cancer last night around 7:30 PM. It was a peaceful passing as she was not conscious and not in any pain.
Beppie began this ordeal two years ago when she had a mastectomy, which was considered successful. In April this year, she had severe pain in her hip and she became unable to walk. After many weeks, Kaiser diagnosed a fracture and then performed hip surgery around the middle of May. She worked hard at rehabilitation and could walk again and we thought she was on her way to recovery. Then around two weeks ago, she suddenly became extremely weak, so we did some additional testing and she was diagnosed with metastasis of her cancer. It seems clear in hindsight that her hip problem was also related to the cancer.
In lieu of sending flowers, if you are so inclined, please make a donation to Hospice by the Bay. Beppie volunteered at the Hodge Podge Hospice thrift store for 25 years. Hospice did a fantastic job supporting Bep in her last days. Their address is 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Larkspur, CA, 94939.
