Emil Fred Kornmayer
Emil Fred Kornmayer, Jr., 39, supervisor of Relief Accounting, Abqaiq Cost Accounting, died in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 1 while on long vacation.
The Kornmayers departed on leave on April 23 and had made plans to spend several weeks in Europe before returning to the United States.
Hailing from Houston, Tex., Kornmayer arrived in Saudi Arabia in July, 1952, as an accountant, General Office headquarters, Dhahran. On May 14, 1956, he was transferred to Abqaiq to the position he held upon departure.
Kornmayer served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, from January, 1943, until January, 1946. Following his discharge he worked for the Ada Oil Company and later the Reed Roller Bit Company in Houston.
He had returned to the United States on an education leave in May, 1955, and received his B.B.S. from the University of Texas School of Business Administration in February, 1956, with a major in accounting.
Kornmayer is survived by his wife, Alice, a daughter, Elise, 10, and a son, Kevin, age 4.
