Earl Johnson
Former Aramcon Earl Johnson of Dhahran and Abqaiq (1948-62) passed away February 13, 2007 at the age of 97. His wife Louise had predeceased him several years previously. Earl worked in Aramco's drafting department and was very active as a layman in the early Dhahran, then Abqaiq, Protestant Fellowship.
Aramcons of the era may also remember their children Myrna, Earl Jr., Gerald and Victor. Earl's brother Cecil Johnson served as Protestant pastor in Ras Tanura in the 1950's, as well. The two brothers and their families made a very positive impact on the still young Aramco ExPat community of the time.
Earl was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and came to Brevard County in 1994 from Gautier, Mississippi. Earl was a member of Grace Fellowship in Rockledge and the Gideons International.
Survivors include his sons, Earl Clifford Johnson, Jr.of Pittsboro, NC, Gerald H. Johnson of Portland, Oregon, and Victor B. Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter Myrna Mason of Rockledge; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson; sister Dagmar Bruhn of Batavia, IL and his brother Fernly Johnson also of Batavia, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Gideons International."
