E. Scott Goldsborough
E. Scott Goldsborough of Las Cruces, New Mexico died February 6, 2013 and was born October 15, 1924 in Houston, Texas.
He married Wilhelmina G. Roelink on April 10, 1970. Scott served in the 485th Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group, as a P-38 fighter pilot during WWII. He also served in the Air Force Reserves and attained the rank of Major. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and went through the Post and District levels to the position of District Commander prior to going to work overseas in 1955.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 1950, where he lettered in football and track and field. He retired in 1977, after 22 years of service as a Senior Consulting Engineer for Industrial Development at the Arabian American Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
He was very devoted to his hobbies of golf and building his own experimental aircraft. Scott is survived by his wife Wilhelmina and his six children, daughter Lynn Porter and husband Lee; sons Robert Goldsborough and wife Grace; Ralph Goldsborough and wife Richtje; David Goldsborough and wife Jaqueline; daughter Romi L. Blalock and husband Eddy; and son Roland P. Middelraad and wife Penny. He is also survived by his brothers Frank Goldsborough ans wife Arlene; Grant Finch and wife Jana; Robert Finch and wife Donna; and sister Elizabeth Richmond; as well as 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Scott was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan Springer.
