Dwight Lee Brixey
Dwight Lee Brixey (February 1, 1951 - July 26, 2024) was an affectionate, dedicated and hard working man who always put the needs of others above his own. Dwight was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and moved to Gassville, AR, with his parents, Bob and Doris Brixey, before his first birthday, where they built the Starlite Drive-In and Skating Rink. He married his wife of 54 years, Mahala Smithson, in 1970. The couple have two daughters and three granddaughters, who are affectionately referred to as “Poppy’s Harem” and they were the light of his life. Dwight was an engineer and worked for Exxon from 1973-2009. He worked in the Middle East some 20 years where he developed his love of tennis. He was a respected boss and mentor, a father figure to many, a friend to all he met. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, father-in-law, grandfather, father and husband. He will be remembered for his work ethic, kindness, compassion, generosity, spirit, quiet humor and patience. The space left in our hearts by his sudden passing will never be filled but his memory will live there forever.
Per Dwight’s wishes, no services or memorials are planned at this time.
