DeMont Stevens
DeMont Stevens, Aramco retiree who left Saudi Arabia last September, died in Florida on March 21. Funeral services were held in Lakeworth, Fla. Stevens' retirement marked the end of 17 years of work with Aramco in Saudi Arabia. He first arrived in Arabia in December of 1937, as office manager for the Saudi Arabian Mining Syndicate in Jiddah, returning to the States during the war years.
He came to Arabia for the second time in February, 1947, as construction accountant for Aramco in Abqaiq. He remained there until November, 1952, when he transferred to Dhahran to work on the compilation of a Senior Staff Payroll Manual. In December, 1959, he became supervisor, Senior Staff Payroll, the position from which he retired.
Mrs. Stevens may be contacted at 2180 S. E. 7th Street, Apt. 10, Pompano Beach, Fla. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cash, or checks payable to the American Cancer Society may be submitted to Monica Essenpreis, Comptroller's office, Room 3311, Administration Building, Dhahran.
It is with gratitude and appreciation that I send my deep and heartfelt thanks to our friends in Saudi Arabia who have shown their sympathy and kindness in so many ways. I also wish to thank those who, in memory of DeMont Stevens, have contributed to the American Cancer Society.
