One of 10 children to Nettie and Frank Leverich, Colleen was born on July 29, 1924 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was married to husband Paul Nance for 64 years ago.

Colleen and Paul moved to Saudi Arabia in 1953, where he worked for Aramco for 31 years. While living in Saudi Arabia, they traveled to approximately 50 countries. Visiting Jerusalem and Petra in the 1950s, crossing the Atlantic over a dozen times by ocean liners, volunteering at the Women's Exchange and hospital in Dhahran, playing bridge with the ladies, and especially visiting family and friends on vacation were some of the experiences that Colleen treasured.

Colleen and Paul spent most of their retirement years split between Fort Worth, TX and Kansas City, Missouri. While Paul pursued his museum passion, Colleen supported him as she did throughout their married life and his career with Aramco. She appreciated the relationship with and recognition by the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Missouri, where they donated the Nance Museum and hoped the University would eventually get the support necessary to more fully display the many artifacts in the collection. Colleen was passionate about tolerance and respect of different cultures and religions.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by husband Paul Nance; two dear sisters Jean Kupchin (and husband Stan), and Joan Young; brother George Leverich (and wife Diane); son Mark Nance (and wife Janey Depew); and son James Nance (and wife Jill Nance); grandchildren Cyndi Denham (and husband Jose Denham), Jeni Nance, and Sara Nance; and two great-grandchildren, Shelbi Slater and Joseph Denham.

Many nieces and nephews and their children were also very dear to Colleen, as were so very many close friends around the world.

A special thank you to the staff at Prestonwood Rehab; in particular, Julie, Amber, Beth, Colleen, Judy and Ginger (Goodwin Hospice) for their kind attention with respect and compassion during Mom's last hours, and to a special friend and caregiver Connie Brown.

Colleen appreciated so very much the support of Rev. Dr. Donald Hogg of Westminster Presbyterian Church and others in the church who visited her numerous times in all the hospitals over four months. The church was very important to Colleen.

The Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 10 at 10:30 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Please direct any donations in her name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Trail Lake Dr., Ft Worth, TX 76133. As she wished, she will be cremated by the Neptune Society.
