After Chuck graduated high school in Minden, Louisiana, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953 and was stationed in California, Japan and Korea. Upon his discharge two years later, he attended Louisiana State University, graduating with a degree in chemical engineering. After graduation in 1959, Chuck was hired by Saudi Aramco and went to work in the New York office in the Engineering Department. After six months, he headed out to Dhahran where he worked as a construction engineer in the Construction Department. In his career with Saudi Aramco, he worked as a process/design engineer in Abqaiq; as assistant superintendent in Northern Area Producing in Nariya and Safaniya; as a program engineer in Executive Management; as superintendent of Producing Water Injection in Abqaiq; and as producing technical assistant in Executive Management dealing with budgets and programs. After working on various projects, he became general manager of Producing/Refining/Utilities Projects in 1982. From 1984 to 1986 Chuck was executive vice president of Aramco Overseas Company in The Hague. After returning to Dhahran in 1986, his final assignment was leading the team that managed the development of the scope, project proposal and contract packages for the Refinery Upgrade. After 35 years with Saudi Aramco, Chuck retired in May 1994.

After retiring, Chuck and his wife, Maggie, lived in Las Vegas where they enjoyed hiking the many trails at Mt. Charleston. Then they decided to move to San Diego where they also enjoyed hiking and mountain biking. They treasured the times they went to doggie beach in Del Mar with their two rescued dogs, Gunnie and Sarge. In 2003 Chuck and Maggie moved to the foothills of Colorado just west of Denver and continued to enjoy the outdoors, the changes of seasons, wildlife, wild flowers and the beautiful summers and snowy winters.
