Bonnie and Dick Cain
Aramco annuitants, Bonnie Tucker Cain and Richard Maurice Cain departed for their eternal life together the week of March 19, 2006, after 41 happy years of marriage.
Bonnie was born on July 19, 1925 in Cromwell, Indiana. She was raised in Bellville, Ill. and later worked for Monsanto in St. Louis and Texas City. She was an energetic person who enjoyed helping others.
Dick was born September 11, 1927 in Venus, Texas. He served in the Navy during WWII before graduating from Texas Tech University with an electrical engineering degree. Dick was an avid golfer, excellent bowler and a member of the Masons.
Bonnie and Dick met while working at the Monsanto Chemical Company in Texas City. Shortly after their marriage, Dick took a position with the Saudi Aramco Oil Company and the family lived in Saudi Arabia for 18 years. Dick had a wide ranging career in Aramco in several maintenance and operating organizations. Their experiences and close friendships in Saudi Arabia were very special to them.
In 1983, Dick retired and they moved to Elkins Lake in Huntsville, Texas. They enjoyed being closer to family and other Aramco retirees. They were active members of the First Baptist Church of Huntsville and developed special friendships with their Sunday school class.
Bonnie and Dick are survived by their children: Rusty and Barbara Schlattman, Don Schlattman, and Mary Kay Schlattman of Houston, and Robbin and James Fenley of Weatherford, and Pat Engle of Edmond, Ok. and grandchildren: Malia Schlattman, Alex Schlattman, Chris Wheeler, Clifford Wheeler, Melanie Wheeler, Philip Engle, and Johnathon Engle. They are also survived by numerous sisters, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the caregivers at the Arbors unit in the Hampton's, especially Derrick, Rose, Theresa, and Micki, and the staff of the Vitas Hospice.
A memorial service to celebrate their lives together will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday the 8th of April at the First Baptist Church in Huntsville.
