Bon Albert Thomson
Bon Albert Thomson, born February 1, 1937, passed away suddenly into the hands of our Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 19, 2002. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Thomson and is survived by his mother, Lulu Crista of El Paso, TX; his wife, Nona Francis ("Nee" Taylor) Thomson of the family home in Elephant Butte, NM; three daughters, Kerry and her husband, Dick Sparks of Belen, NM; Carolyn and her husband, Martin Baca of Belen; Bon Jean and her husband, David Rush of Denton, TX; six grandchildren, Benjamin Sparks, Sarah and Bon Pau Baca, Jeremy, James and Zachary Rush; sister, Therma Keene of El Paso, TX; brother, Gerald Thomson of Venezuela; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bon was born in Santa Fe, NM and graduated from Robertson High School in Las Vegas, NM, class of 1956. He worked for PNM for 18 years in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. He worked for Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in Saudi Arabia for 17 years and for Plains Electric for two years and retired to Elephant Butte in 1995. He currently served as trustee to Sierra Electric Co-op. and was Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board for the City of Elephant Butte. He was an active member of the Church at the Butte and his favorite passage from the Bible was I Corinthians 13:"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves...and now these things remain; faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." We love you, Dad. A Memorial Celebration Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church at the Butte with Rev. Robert Rachiug officiating. For those who prefer, memorial contributions in Mr. Thomson's name may be sent to the Church at the Butte Building Fund % P.O. Box 1346, Elephant Butte, NM 87935.
