Betty Hesrick

Betty Jane Hesrick, 85 years, of Bryan, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 10, 2013 in the emergency room at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.  Betty was born December 14, 1927 in Bryan, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Doris (Strup) Hesrick.  Betty was a teacher for 42 years, teaching in Garrett Indiana, Columbus, Ohio, Saudi Arabia, ULM Germany and South Euclid, Ohio.  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan.  Betty was well known for her collection of hats, and was always seen out wearing a different hat each day.  She thoroughly enjoyed meeting her friends at Season Bistro for coffee.  One always knew where they stood with Betty, because she was lovingly and gently spoke her mind.

She is survived by her two sisters, Thelma VanPoppel of Decatur, Indiana and Donna Forbes of Bryan. She was also survived by a host of good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Denver Hesrick.

To honor Betty's wishes, there will not be any visitation or funeral services.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
