Deceased: 6 February 2023

Under: Obituary

Anna Latrelle Gifford known to family and friends as Lori, passed away February 6, 2023 peacefully at home with family by her side. She is survived by her husband James of 54 years and their son Jace and his wife Sarah and grandsons Leif and Eli. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1932 to Prentiss D. and Annie L. Lewis. She had two brothers Prentiss Jr and Willard, both of whom preceded her in passing. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1952 with a BS Degree as a Dental Hygienist and was licensed to work in a number of states during her career. James and Lori were married in Tokyo, Japan in 1968 and lived in various USA cities and countries around the world.

Throughout her life, she always managed to bring a positive outlook to all situations and as she often said, “don’t let the little things get you down”. She enjoyed music and singing, as well as playing tennis and golf. While living in Saudi Arabia she got very involved in the Monday Morning Ladies Golf group, competing in various tournaments and making good friends along the way. Even as she got older she stayed active, making sure she did her daily walks and stretches for as long as she could.

The family requests that rather than sending flowers or gifts, please feel free to donate to an animal welfare non-profit, such as the ASPCA. She had a love of all animals and would have appreciated this gesture.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmeastern.com for the Gifford family.
