Ahmed M. Zahir
Ahmed M. Zahir, superintendent of the Maintenance and Services Division of the Refinery and Terminal Maintenance Department, died on Nov. 24 in his home village of Awamiyah in Qatif Oasis.
Mr. Zahir's career was spent almost entirely in Ras Tanura, where he was hired in 1945 for the Construction Department. He worked as carpenter, painter and foreman in Maintenance and Shops before departing in 1965 for an out-of-Kingdom training assignment at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. With his return to Ras Tanura he assumed positions in Maintenance and Shops and the North Refinery Division and in 1970 transferred to Dhahran on a developmental assignment with the Material Control Planning Division. He subsequently became foreman of the Boiler Shop, Refinery and Terminal Maintenance and in 1974 assumed the superintendent's position in the Maintenance Services Division.
Survivors include his wife, three sons and three daughters. [Photograph]
