A Celebration of Robin Fischer's Life

On Friday morning, July 31, 2009, Robin Anne Fischer, age 53, of St. Augustine, Florida in the presence of her beloved family peacefully succumbed to the nine month battle she heroically fought with cancer.

Robin was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania to Jean and Donald Connelly who presently reside in Merritt Island, Florida. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael and three adoring sons, Ian, 24, Evan, 19, and Austin, 15.

Robin, Michael, Ian and Evan arrived in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia in July 1992 where Robin and Michael began a wonderful career as educators with the Saudi Aramco Schools. In August 1993, Austin joined the family. The Fischer's spent five great years in Udhailiyah where Robin and Michael taught third and fifth grade. In 1998, The Fischer's moved to Dhahran where Robin held several different educational positions, most recently fourth grade at the Dhahran Hills School. In the classroom, Robin loved making learning fun, challenging, filled with the latest technology and always student centered.

Robin was always active and on the go. She spent time playing golf, tennis, swimming and walking. Her most enjoyable times in life where spent with her three boys. The Fischer household was always a hub of excitement, filled with the laughter and antics of the boys and hordes of friends. Robin loved the energy and excitement that a house filled with kids provided.

Robin is also survived by her sister Kathie and husband, Bob Spencer of Hartford, Connecticut and brother, Chris Connelly and wife, Theresa.

For family and friends that are able to make the trip to St. Augustine, Florida, Robin's "A Celebration of Life", will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM. A spiritual service will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church (36 Sevilla St., St Augustine, FL 32084-3535).

After the service, we invite you to join us in fellowship, fond memories, and Robin-type fun and frolic at Comfort Suites at World Golf Village (475 Commerce Lake Dr, St Augustine, FL 32095). If you choose to stay at the Comfort Suites, please mention you are with Robin's "A Celebration of Life" and you will receive a rate of approximately $76 per night. The Comfort Suites is approximately 15 minutes from the quaint town of St. Augustine, FL.

In order to keep Robin's memory alive, we invite you to bring a memento or memory of Robin. These wonderful gems will be compiled into a memory book by Robin's sister Kathie. Photos, stories, handdrawn pictures, or other treasures will find a place in our heart and in Robin's memory book.

For our Saudi Aramco family and friends that are not able to make the trip to Florida, a Memorial Service will be held in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia sometime in September. Details of that service will be forthcoming.

In honor of Robin's wishes and her dream to help others avoid the devastation of cancer, we request that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Mayo Clinic.
