Zouhair A. Al-Kaaki, a petroleum engineering consultant in the Northern Area Production Engineering Department, is retiring after 42 years of service with the company. He will be ending his career as the assistant to the general manager of Safaniyah Area Producing, which began in 2016.
After graduating from Louisiana State University, Al-Kaaki joined the company in 1980 as a production engineer in Ras Tanura (RT). In 1985 he obtained his M.S. degree in Engineering Management from the University of Rolla, Missouri through the company continuing education program.
Al-Kaaki’s career has taken him through many positions and work areas, including the Qatif, Dammam, Abu Hadriyah, Fadhili, Abu Safah, Khursaniyah, Manifa, Zuluf, Marjan, and Safaniyah fields.
In 2019, he was awarded an Excellence Award from the Operations and Business Services Business Line head for his contribution in the successful establishment of the Integrated Offshore Operations Vessels Control Center, which designed to facilitate a higher level of operational efficiency and Marine vessel utilization.

Throughout his career, Al-Kaaki was active in serving the RT and Tanajib communities. He served as RT Swim Club (RTSC) president and a swim coach for over 20 years. Also, Al-Kaaki was a referee for the Arabian Falcon swim teams for eight years (a total of 17 teams in the Saudi Arabia Eastern Region, Central Region, and Western Region). In addition, he held the position of president of the RT Saudi Aramco Employees Association for 10 years, and treasurer for six years. Al-Kaaki is also a member of the RT Yacht club.
He led the efforts to introduce Umra trips from Tanajib, which later became a frequent yearly event. Another achievement Al-Kaaki is proud of is the establishment of the 5/2 – 4/3 work schedule, which was piloted for the first time in the company by Tanajib employees.
He said that he was proud to have worked for Aramco. “Saudi Aramco is not only about producing oil, it also produces efficient employees and staff members one can be proud of, who are worthy of representing the company anywhere in the world,” Al-Kaaki said.
Looking at the experience he gained from the company and the opportunity of dealing and interacting with people, Al-Kaaki described his experience with Aramco as unique. “I will not say goodbye to the company; but rather, ‘Thank you for everything you gave me,’” he said.
Al-Kaaki also noted that he was thankful for the support of management throughout his career.
