Weeding, pruning, watering, and fertilizing every day key to winner's well-groomed yard.
From the Feb. 14, 1996 edition of The Arabian Sun.
Lovely color, meticulous care and attention to landscaping details earned Larry and Cree Duff and daughter Lauren, 594 Marjan Circle, the Dhahran Garden Group's Yard of the Month award for December.
Vivid pink petunias ringing a banyan tree greet visitors and set the color scheme for pots of petunias, bougainvillea, hibiscus, and the lush hedge of health periwinkle that promenades across the front of the house.
When the Duffs moved to the house in 1988, Cree was dismayed by the dismal yard with almost no plants. She and Larry, who share a love of gardening, embarked on a landscaping project that really never ends, but they don't mind.
The devote some time each day to routine that includes weeding, pruning, watering, and fertilizing, and they replace faded plants and add new specimens when the seasons change.
The Duffs are regular speakers at DGG's Garden Room and their backyard patio and garden retreat were included in DGG's Secret Garden Tour held last spring.
