On Wednesday, January 15th, 2003, twenty-nine former Aramco ExPat women came together to reminisce about their days of living in Saudi Arabia. Most of the attendees live in Las Vegas and the surrounding area but a few came from Arizona to join us for the afternoon.
This first-ever event was held at the Il Fornaio Restaurant in the Green Valley Ranch Resort Hotel and was organized by Karen Fallon, who lived in Dhahran and Ras Tanura. The majority of the ladies present lived in Dhahran with a few from Abqaiq and Ras Tanura. Only one lady present represented Udhailiyah. We were very fortunate to have four daughter dependents attend the luncheon.
Door prizes were handled out with a special “Lennox china camel” won by Carol Hamblin, who lived in Dhahran and Abqaiq from 1973-76, with the monies raised to be given to Child Haven, a Shelter for Abused Children. Guest speakers, Denise McCurry, an Aramco Brat, told the group about Child Haven and Karen Fallon, Coordinator, enlightened the group on Herbalife.
As the ladies were leaving, all hoped that this would become an annual if not a quarterly event.
Our thanks and appreciation to Karen Fallon for her hard work organizing this successful event.
