Gamers8: Land of Heroes is offering a $45 million prize pool across the elite gaming titles.
The Saudi Electronic Sports Federation and Aramco announced a strategic partnership to sponsor the “Gamers without Borders” (GWB) events and the “Gamers8: The Land of Heroes” festival for 2023, after the successful partnership for previous editions.
GWB, the world’s largest charitable esports festival, returns for the fourth consecutive year for six weeks — which began on April 10. Held virtually by the Saudi Esports Federation, GWB serves as a qualifier for Gamers8: The Land of Heroes, the biggest esports and gaming event worldwide, which runs for eight weeks, beginning July 6.
The strategic partnership between the Saudi Esports Federation and Aramco continues the work successfully achieved by both entities at last year’s events. Aramco will once again be a title sponsor of the Aramco SIM Arena, a high-end simulator zone for racing enthusiasts to compete in community tournaments.
“We are delighted to welcome Aramco on board once again as a strategic partner, and thank them for continually pledging their support to the esports and gaming sector in Saudi Arabia.”
— Ahmed Al-Bishri, deputy CEO at the Saudi Esports Federation
“There is much to build on from last year’s Gamers without Borders and Gamers8 editions, and much for fans to look forward to in 2023,” Al-Bishri said. “The extension of the partnership promises new surprises for the gaming community through the creation of attractive, engaging, and tailor-made content, and experiences. Indeed, the welcome return of Aramco as a strategic partner adds another layer of excellence to events that are being highly anticipated right across the globe.”
Showcasing the Kingdom’s Growing Esports Industry
Khalid A. Al Zamil, vice president of Public Affairs at Aramco, said: “We are proud to continue our support of gamers in the Kingdom, and the promotion of esports globally.”
“Our ongoing partnership with Gamers without Borders and Gamers8: The Land of Heroes, provides another opportunity to showcase Saudi Arabia’s growing esports industry and the huge enthusiasm for gaming right across the country. Fans can be assured that the activations stemming from the partnership will once again push the boundaries of enriching, modern entertainment.”
