In September 2011, a massive wildfire scorched 34,000 acres in Bastrop, Texas destroying 550 homes. Among those unfortunate home owners were Aramco annuitants Jay and Karen Holland. Jay and Karen lost everything in the fire. All their personal belongings were destroyed. Nothing was salvaged. Now, having started over again, Jay and Karen have rebuilt from the ashes and have just completed the construction of their new home. In a recent conversation with annuitant Teresa Berg, Jay commented, "the fire did not stop us." Teresa and other Aramco friends would like to wish Jay and Karen and everyone who lost their homes in the fire the very best. See more photos of the Holland Rebuild in the Aramco ExPats Galleries.
