1 "L" Day
This custom made tour will provide a unique opportunity for a small group of visitors to explore the magnificent geology and rich cultural history of the North of Ireland. The trip take in two World Heritage sites, national parks and many sites of special scientific and historical interest. You will encounter stark an rugged landscapes, spectacular natural features, haunting ancient monuments and a flavor (or two!) of the country’s traditions, vibrant culture and warm hospitality.
The tour leader, Colin Reid, is a native of Northern Ireland. Colin learned his craft as a geologist on the hills and coasts of the province, working as both a prospector, looking for gold in the Mourne Mountains and as curator at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, collecting and curating fossils and minerals for the national collections. Colin went on to become Culture and Tourism manager in Oxford, England before joining the King Cultural Center team in 2010 before to take is retirement on 2016. Colin has many years of experience in public engagement including as a guest on the BBC outdoor series, “Tracks”.
