Located in the heart of Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada), Balmoral Hall was founded in 1901 to offer comprehensive girls’ education. An independent day and boarding school for girls aged 2 to Grade 12 (boarding is available starting in Grade 6), Balmoral Hall welcomes students from around the world, encouraging them to discover their passions in academics, arts, and athletics.
BH girls are risk-takers, their curiosity is insatiable, and most importantly they rise to challenges. Instilling this fearlessness in a nurturing environment, educators provide students with countless opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge. Emphasizing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), a curriculum spanning classical studies to 21st-century technology fosters academic excellence. Subject areas are aligned to provide continuity, as well as progression of understanding. As they deepen their learning, BH girls expand their thinking.
Personalized university preparation, including alumnae mentorship, begins in Grade 8. In preparing for their academic and professional futures, BH girls make well-researched, informed decisions. Language studies, peer tutoring, and classes in SAT, ACT, and IELTS preparation are available at Balmoral Hall School.
A dedicated team of full- and part-time staff works closely with students to encourage participation in the boarding curriculum. Balmoral Hall fosters a supportive boarding environment based on caring, connection, and community.
Expanding cultural awareness, furthering their independence, and developing a variety of healthful habits, boarding students achieve success beyond the classroom; they discover their full potential.
