Pieter Hollenberg
Pieter Hollenberg Sr. passed away peacefully on September 4, 2020 at the age of 82 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Pieter was born in Velsen, Netherlands on April 17, 1938.
After receiving his education in Marine Engineering, completing his service in the Royal Dutch Merchant Marines, Pieter then immigrated to Canada where he met and married Francine Diane Cormier in 1967 and became a Canadian citizen in 1968. In 1978, Pieter Sr., his wife and two sons, Pieter Jr. and Marc, moved to Saudi Arabia where he worked in the Petrochemicals industry. In 1995 he retired with his wife Francine to Andorra where they lived for ten years before settling in Vero Beach Florida in 2005. Pieter is survived by his loving wife Francine, his sons Pieter and Marc (Christine), his beautiful grand daughters Riley, Teagan and Finley, his sisters Yvonne, Marion (Lex), in-laws Paul (Francine), Jacques (Monique) and his nieces and nephews.
Pieter Sr. had a full life, seeing so much of the world, always trying to find a good conversation, even in languages he did not know but which never stopped him from engaging others. Pieter and his sense of humour will be missed.
