Phillip Norman Murray, 60, of Arpelar, died Monday, July 26, 2021 in Arpelar.

The family will greet friends and visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Clint Gray. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery.

Phillip was born to Norman and Martha (Fouse) Murray on September 4, 1960 in El Centro, California. He attended school in Hartshorne.

He married DeAnna Kaye Collier November 14, 1977 in Shamrock, Texas.

Phil went to work in the oil fields. He worked as a rig foreman in Saudi Arabia for Saudi Aramco, retiring in 2020. He was known to his co-workers as “Flipper.”

Phil enjoyed working on cars and watching auto racing. He especially loved to listen to rock and roll music as loud as it would go. His favorite bands included AC/DC and Joe Bonamassa.

He is survived by his father: Norman Murray of Pueblo, Colorado; mother: Martha Fouse of Arpelar; wife: DeAnna of the home; daughters: Kimberly Murray and wife, Mandie of McAlester, Amanda Murray and fiancé, Justin Avery of McAlester; grandchildren: Daizy, Diego, Phillip, and Felicia Cuevas, Angel Baker, Rylan Avery; brothers: Edward Murray of Holdenville, Heath Murray of Pueblo, Colorado; sisters: Brenda Scott of Tulsa, Debra Hood and husband, Kenny of Alderson; nieces and nephews: Job, Brandy, and George Dungan, Joseph and Jacob Dyer, Adam, Dallas, and Amber Collier, Tina, Bryson, and Braydon Horne; and other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
