Jim L. Dykes, 78 of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Abilene, TX. Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM today at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, July 22, 2017, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with James King of the Grace Church of Abilene officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30PM at the Coleman City Cemetery in Coleman, TX. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Jim was born in Deridder, Louisiana to Thomas Tribble Dykes & Ruby on September 15, 1938. He graduated from Odessa College. He married Anong Srimakhet on February 17, 1990 in Suphanburi Province, Thailand. He worked as a driller for Aramco Oil Company. He was a member of the Grace Church of Abilene.

Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother David, and his sister Rachel.

Jim is survived by his wife Anong. Sons; Thomas Russell Dykes, Sr. & James Wesley Dykes. Sisters; Shirley Hickman, Martha Thomas & Lynette Mejia. Grandchildren; Ann Michelle Rossotti & husband Andre & Thomas Russell Dykes, Jr.

Pallbearers will be James King, Thomas Dykes, Sr, Thomas Dykes, Jr, James Wesley Dykes & Andre Rossotti.
