Hikmat Jawdat Darwish

Hikmat Jawdat Darwish, supervisor of television program presentation in the Public Relations Department, died July 21 as a result of injuries sustained in a one-car accident on the Nariya highway the previous day. He was interred in Jerusalem, Jordan.

Mr. Darwish was born in Jerusalem and attended the Rawdat al-Ma'araf College there, going on to studies in commerce at the International College of the American University of Beirut.

Mr. Darwish joined Aramco in 1950 as an accountant and in 1952 became senior teller in the Treasurer's Department. He transferred to Public Relations in September 1954 as a writer-translator and moved to the position of assistant editor of the company's Arabic weekly newspaper the following year. In March 1960 he transferred into Television and Radio Division as a television script writer and was made TV moderator in 1962. He became supervisor of TV program presentation in April of this year.
