David M. Switzer
Peacefully at rest February 12, 2019, at age 81. Born to Merton and Sarah Switzer of Painted Post NY, David went on to earn his degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He moved to San Francisco, a city that always held a special place in his heart, where he met and married his wife of 53 years, Judith Shults, a Rochester native. In 1965 they traveled to Saudi Arabia where he began a dynamic and fascinating career working in the oil industry for Saudi ARAMCO. He was passionate about his life and work in the Middle East. His final years he resided at St. Ann's Home where his struggle with dementia was aided by the compassionate care he received. An extremely devoted husband and father, he was deeply loved. He will be remembered for his humor, great intellectual curiosity, generosity of spirit, and enthusiasm for life. He is predeceased by his brother, James. He is survived by his wife, Judith, and daughter, Michele.
